The winners of the Messy Nativity sheep trail around the local shops in Ellon leading up to Christmas have been announced.

They were Jack Walls, Hayden Gray and Leith Gray who each received a book token and chocolates.

Runners-up were Kate Whyment, Mya and Ella Leune, who received chocolates.

The prizes were presented by St Mary-on-the-Rock minister, Rev Canon Peter Mander. Kate was unable to attend due to illness, but has since received her prize.

The sheep have now all been collected, some have gone to new homes and others have been packed safely away until next time.

St Mary’s members and the Mothers’ Union have thanked all the participating shops who agreed to display the sheep, and it is hoped that they will be willing to take part again, if it is decided to do something similar this year.

Organisers have also thanked all the children who participated and the parents who helped them.

It is hoped that they had fun doing it.
