This past weekend, north of a line drawn from Montrose to Inverness, artists and makers all over the North East of Scotland invited visitors to come along and view the results of their artistic talents.

On Saturday NEOS ( North East Open Studios ) opened its doors to the public with 233 venues available to visitors and a huge variety of arts and crafts on show.

None more so than at Ellon & District Art Group’s inaugural opening at All Saints’ Episcopal Church in West Street, Strichen.

Visitors viewed the exhibits and were more than complementary with their comments in the visitors’ book. Demonstrations were available on acrylic painting and crochet work with more to be expected in the coming week.

Sunday saw numbers almost double and visitors commented favourably on the quality and range of subject matter on show.

Christine Woodthorpe gave visitors the chance to try their hand at pyrography while Ellon Art Group members were also on hand and happy to talk and discuss techniques with visitors.

With ‘Ellon Art at Strichen’, NEOS Directory entry number 68, on every day,11am to 4pm until Sunday,September 18, and with so much variety and almost something of interest for everyone, there is still time for visitors to seek out All Saints’ Episcopal Church,West Street, Strichen and enjoy this feast of a festival.
