Spotlight stage “The Odd Couple” in Inverurie

Local drama group Spotlight Theatre are gearing up for this year’s production, Neil Simon’s “The Odd Couple (Female Version)” taking place in Inverurie Town Hall from Thursday, May 28 to Saturday, May 30, at 7.30pm.

Many will be familiar with The Odd Couple having seen the film version starring Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau or the 70s television series starring Tony Randall and Jack Klugman. They were both based on Neil Simon’s 1965 play of the same name.

What is less well known is that Simon adapted his comedy in 1985 and produced a female version of his work. The female version features six women and two men – ideal for lots of amateur drama groups who tend to have more women members than men.

As usual there will be cabaret style seating in the Town Hall and there will be a bar.

Tickets are available from Mitchells “The Dairy” Inverurie, cast members and at the door priced £10, and £8 concession.
