An Ellon drama group put on their first performance at a nursing home in the town.

The Rev Canon Peter Mander said: “The youngsters were very nervous because this was their first time performing out in public but they really enjoyed it.

“They were encouraged by the friendly and positive reception - and enjoyed the refreshments afterwards.”

The group which is open to all children is ran by three members of St Mary’s congregation.

The residents of Ythanvale Nursing Home also enjoyed themselves.

“It was so realistic, I was really frightened!” Said one of the residents, while another said it that it was great fun and made her feel young again.
