The Ellon Parish Chruch Flower and Music Festival was a big success.

The Ellon Parish Church Flower Committee enjoyed a hugely successful weekend during Harvest Thanksgiving.

The events began on Friday, October 9, with Gardeners’ Question Time which featured a panel made up of Jim McColl of Beechgrove Garden, Susan Burgess from Pitmedden Gardens and Colin Stirling a retired horticulturist.

This event was well attended and provided useful information as well as plenty of entertainment.

On Saturday, October 10, the Flower and Music Festival saw a variety of displays depicting harvest designed by both the Flower Committee and friends.

The music department, led by Alison Young, provided entertainment from a variety of groups including the Church choir and the Church Band.

The Harvest Thanksgiving Service on the Sunday welcomed lots of people to close the successful weekend.

Connie Bartlet, flower convenor, was delighted with the outcome, thanking all those who made it possible through their work and support.

Connie was delighted to hand over a cheque for £2,500 to the Church Refurbishment Fund.
