THE LEAD consultants for the Haddo Regeneration Project are set to host an informal, drop-in Community Consultation on Sunday 8 May.
The session, which will be held in the new Visitor Information Office, located by the entrance to the Stable Block at Haddo, will run from 11am until 4pm.
By consulting in this way, the event organisers, Land Use Consultants, hope that the event will give people the opportunity to comment on how the plans and ideas agreed in the first stage of the Heritage Lottery Funding application are being developed. This will help in the preparation of the Stage 2 development proposal, which is due for submission in August.
In January 2010, Aberdeenshire Council succeeded in securing a Stage 1 pass from the Heritage Lottery Fund ‘Parks for People’ programme for the regeneration of the Haddo Country Park. Key elements of the regeneration project include upgrading interpretation, visitor information and the seating available to visitors. The project also hopes to make the most of the educational and recreational opportunities offered by Haddo, as well as conserving the impressive features and monuments in the park.
