Folk music enthusiasts will be in their element in Tarves this weekend.
The occasion is the second Tarves Rant - a one-day festival which will be held in the village on Saturday.
The Aberdeen Arms Hotel and Tarves Heritage Centre will be the venues for the programme of events.
Musicians and singers are being invited to take part in an open mic session in the hotel from 2.30pm and in the evening it will host the main concert.
Bothy ballads and traditional song will be performed in the heritage centre, also from 2.30pm.
The festival has attracted the same performers as the inaugural event last year.
Among those taking part are Dick and Maggie Trickey, Russell Taylor, Sandy Leggat, and Stuart and George Davidson.
Folk club member and organiser, John Dickson, said: “The folk club decided to hold a one-day festival last year to judge local interest.
“This took the form of workshops in the morning, an open mic session in the pub in the afternoon and a “full house” concert in the evening. Feedback from the audience was very positive.
“The success of the festival made us decide to go ahead with a second Tarves Rant this year with the same performers.”
The afternoon sessions are free and entry to the concert at 7.30pm is £5.
