Vintage and classic car enthusiasts are set to gather for an award-winning event next month in the North-east.
The new Clubs Spectacular will see vehicle clubs come together at The Grampian Transport Museum in Alford on Sunday, May 11.
With this year’s event expected to be the biggest gathering held yet at the museum, the event promises to be the ideal showcase for local clubs.
Last year a press launch for the initiative was held after discussions with several clubs. Having over 100 drivers with their vehicles in attendance helped secure the deal for a significantly larger event where visitors to the museum will have the opportunity to find out more about local clubs and those further afield.
The museum was recently voted Visitor Attraction of the Year at the Aberdeen City and Shire Tourism Awards, which took place at the Ardoe House Hotel in Aberdeen last month.
The title was award in perfect time - just two days before the start of the Alford museum’s 31st season.
Museum Curator, Mike Ward, is looking forward to the launch of the new event.
He said: “We hope the event will act as a point of focus for the vintage and classic vehicle enthusiasts in the North-east Scotland and as a season opener for classic car events in our area. It promises to be a significant gathering of the best of our area’s preserved road vehicles.”
