Consultation on better transport links in the North-east is to continue until next month.

People can comment online till December 15 on various options identified as part of a study for delivering improvements between Aberdeen and North Aberdeenshire.

The area’s transport partnership, Nestrans, recently held a serious of public engagement events in Ellon, Fraserburgh, Peterhead and Bridge of Don.

Campaigners have been stepping up calls for the dualling of the A90 beyond Ellon, and the restoration of the former Buchan rail line.

Nestrans chair, Councillor Ramsay Milne, said: “We are pleased that the events ran successfully and were well attended by both councillors and the public.

“They allowed us to hear an interesting range of views and opinions expressed and the consultants can now use this feedback in the on-going study.

“We appreciate that not everyone will have had the chance to come along to an event, or would prefer to spend time thinking about the various options before giving their feedback, which is why the consultation is open online until December 15,” he added.

Following the conclusion of the public consultation, the consultants will undertake further study to narrow and refine the possibilities as part of a stage one appraisal report early next year.
