Sixty turkeys have been snapped up at an annual festive turkey auction at the Thainstone Centre, Inverurie.

David Gall, Craigforthie, Inverurie, who organised the sale, said: “We have been selling turkeys through auction now for 37 years and it is great to see that there is still such a demand for the traditional turkey. We always make sure that our birds are hand plucked to ensure quality for the buyer.”

Alan Hutcheon, Aberdeen & Northern Marts, said: “We are delighted to once again welcome an excellent turnout to the festive turkey auction. The sale is extremely popular with buyers ranging from families to the catering industry. It is great to see the traditional turkey on the menu.”
