Organisers of this year’s Auchnagatt Gala Week have described the event as a roaring success.
Throughout the 39th annual Auchnagatt Gala Week, visitors could pick from a wide range of events in which they could get involved in including a tasty cookery demonstration, school discos, a fun family bingo event as well as the main attraction - the Gala Day.
Ceara Anderson from Auchnagatt and Kitty Burton from Arnage were crowned this year’s Gala Princesses.
Primary schools battled it out for first place at the football and netball tournaments, meanwhile the pets competition included an appearance from a pet snail.
Gala Committee Chair, Pat Anderson, told the Times: “We had a great week - Tuesday was our cookery demonstration from Lorna Ross - lovely food and great ‘craic’.
“Wednesday was the primary school Disco and the Gala Princesses were also chosen.
“Friday was a Family Bingo Night - great fun and very noisy and then Sunday was our Gala Day - what a great day!
“Good weather, great local support and a terrific turnout.
“We had a great craft tent, outside stalls, bouncy castles and very tasty teas and home bakes courtesy of Auchnagatt WRI.
