If you are looking for something to do this weekend you don’t need to look much further than Ellon as there is a host of events in store.

There is something for everyone of all ages from open day events to the Farmers Market.

The Ellon Farmers Market will return to Neil Ross Square at 10am until 1pm with a selection of stalls.

Those attending include Pitmedden Farm Shop, Home-Start Garioch and The Devenick Dairy.

The Ellon Police Station Open Day will be held again this year on Saturday (May 27)from 2pm to 4pm.

The Bridge Street station will be open to the public and there will be a chance to meet with local officers as well as being able to tour the station, see the cells and have your fingerprints taken.

There will also be an opportunity to meet a police dog and their handler.

Meanwhile over at the Kirk Centre, the Ellon & District Art Group will hold an Art Exhibition from 8am to 4pm on Saturday.

There will be a wide a wide variety of paintings including local scenes by group members and the artwork of the finalists in their art competition for S3 Ellon Academy pupils, as well as mini prints, crafts, textiles, jewellery, wood and greeting cards on sale.

The Ellon Fire Station was due to hold a Fun Day but it was cancelled today due to the increased UK terror threat.

It is hoped that the event will be rescheduled at a later date.
