The hunt is under way in Ellon for the favourite children’s book character Where’s Wally?

Local businesses Catwalkers, Costcutter, Delicious, Ellon Indoor Market, Floral Request, Frasers, Gray’s Clothing, Shoe La La and Stevens Toymaster have all joined Better Read Books in the fun event.

It will be launched at the beginning of Independent Bookshop Week and the campaign runs from June 29 until July 25.

Those who find him can win prizes including stickers and books.

Anyone wanting to take part can pick up a “Find Wally!” search list with the names of all the businesses, and collect an “I found Wally” card when they spot him.

Collecting cards and handing them in at Better Read Books in Ythan Terrace will win Wally stickers and an entry for other, larger prizes to be drawn at a Where’s Wally? party on July 25.

Where’s Wally? books have held a favourite spot on bookstore shelves all over the world. More than 60 million copies have been sold in over 38 countries and 30 languages, including Egyptian, Korean and Hebrew.
