Electricity shocks of 10,000 volts coupled with running through flaming bales of hay are a million miles away from the usual day job of Paul Archibald, from Ellon.

Audit and accounts manager Paul, senior analyst Graham McKay, and analyst Mike Lister, from Hall Morrice have signed up to complete the 12 mile Tough Mudder event on August 24. The team have decided to raise money for cancer charity CLAN in the process.

The Hall Morrice workmates will battle their way past 28 obstacles, including muddy fields, icy baths and, running through a wall of 10,000 volt electric charged cables.

Paul said: “We signed up for a bit of fun and thought it would be good to raise money for charity.

“We started training properly about two weeks ago but are planning on increasing it as the event approaches, which is five weeks away. We don’t have a target finish time in mind; as long as we finish it together we will be happy.

“When we showed people the video of last year’s event some people laughed and said we were mad but others thought it looked a lot of fun and a good challenge. I think the Hall Morrice partners are encouraging us to push ourselves to the limit but are hoping that we make it through in one piece!”
