Pupils at Auchnagatt School were thrilled to have a visit recently from Commonwealth Games athlete Voirel Etko.
The wrestler took part in the 2010 Games in Delhi and has been selected for the Scots team for Glasgow 2014.
During his visit, Viorel explained to the pupils how he became involved in wrestling, his move to the UK from Romania and the qualities needed to become a top-class athlete.
Head teacher Jill Thomson said: “The children were all very excited about Vio’s visit. They were keen to know about his life and career and asked sensible questions.
“They also took part enthusiastically in the practical activities.”
The wrestler showed the youngsters a DVD of the Delhi Games and one of his training regime.
He then took each class to the hall and took them through some warm up and training activities.
