After the match co-boss Kenny Coull said: “Without doubt we should have put more chances away, but 3-0 and three points, we’re happy. There’s not much to complain about, we had a lot of possession but could have been a bit more ruthless. It is a much improved Fort William side, they worked hard, they were always in our faces.

“It’s all about pride, we expect the players to work hard for 90 minutes, it’s what you train all week to do. They were all desperate to get on the scoresheet

“Andy Hunter like many others will benefit from the week off, there are a few with niggly injuries so we’ll take it easy after the hard work of the past few weeks, it’s a chance to recharge our batteries”

Locos have a well earned free date this Saturday, their second place finish in last year’s Highland League table affording them a free passage into the next round of the William Hill Scottish Junior Cup

Their next match in the Highland League is away at Clachnacuddin on Saturday, September 20, kick off at 3pm, assuming the Merkinchers don’t draw their Cup tie with Hurlford Utd.
