On Saturday, (August 15), Colony Park Juniors won their opening match of the North Region Juniors McBookie League East, 5-0 away from home against local rivals Newmachar United.

The match was even in the first half and it was goalless at the interval.

Colony Park took the lead five minutes into the second half when Andy RODDIE, playing due to the depleted squad, scored.

Five minutes later his son Calvin RODDIE made it 2-0. Colony continued to drive forward and they were rewarded with three further goals, two from Jack STRACHAN and the other from Steven CRAIB to make it 5-0.

n On Tuesday night (August 18), Colony Park drew their second League match at home against Sunnybank.

Despite having most of the play Colony Park found it hard to break down the Sunnybank defence.

With around five minutes left in the match Sunnybank took the lead when their striker was put through one on one with Farquhar and placed his shot past him.

Colony continued to push forward and they were awarded a penalty, in injury time, when a Sunnybank player handled the ball in the box. Greg DORRATT converted from the spot to give Colony a deserved share of the points.

Colony Park Juniors next match is against Lossiemouth United in the Grill League Cup on Saturday, August 22. Kick-off is at 2pm in Lossiemouth.
