A driving force behind Ellon’s Meadows sports complex was among dozens
of volunteers from across Aberdeenshire, recognised for their ‘selfless spirit’.

Kevin Wright attended a recent reception at the council’s Woodhill House headquarters, hosted by Provost Jill Webster.

Kevin, who was nominated by Ellon and District Councillor Gillian Owen, was described as a “leading light” at the Meadows.

He was praised for
displaying great vision for the complex, while serving Ellon Thistle FC and
Ellon United on the
committee.

A keen golfer, Kevin was also seen as a progressive captain at Newburgh
Golf Club.

Provost Webster said the volunteers provided a vital role in their communities, with their personal touch ensuring that those who might otherwise feel isolated have the opportunity to get involved in
community activities.

Each of them received a certificate in recognition of their efforts.
