Inverurie Locos Secretary Billy Thomson and Chaplain Gillian Douglas joined the Football Reminiscence group at Harlaw last week during carers week.

Alzheimer Scotland have formed the group which meets on Thursdays, from 10.30am at Inverurie Loco Works, Harlaw Road, Inverurie, for those diagnosed with dementia

Gillian said, “The guys involved with this group have such fantastic knowledge about locals sports although primarily they are all football fans and ex-players. The Locos are delighted to host the group on a monthly basis and its a really welcoming atmosphere.”

Whether you have played on the pitch or cheered from the stands, Alzheimer Scotland are bringing together people to share their memories of the beautiful game. The group look at photos and memorabilia together and sometimes have fun quizzes. Coffee and biscuits are available during the get together.

Please get in touch if you would like to know more and put your name down for this group. Sharing of memorabilia is very welcome if anyone has any items (eg. photos, old football programmes) sitting in the loft please bring it along.
