A new 6-a-side community football league is about to start in Ellon.

It will be run by Leisure Leagues, Europe’s largest provider of small-sided soccer, and kicks-off this Sunday (January 31) at the Meadows Sports Centre.

The league is for 16-year-olds and over and games cost £30 and take place between 4-6pm every Sunday.

Teams will be competing for a range of top prizes including custom-made trophies.

There is also a chance to play at the National 6 championships where they will get the opportunity to represent Ellon.

Organisers say a fun, but competitive game is assured – and in a unique move profits from the league will

be donated to charity, for which Leisure Leagues have been praised by, among others, David Cameron and Prince Charles.

Qualified referees will be in charge of the league, and are backed up by a strong disciplinary structure.

Anyone who wants to register a team can do so on www.leisureleagues.net/uk/scotland/ellon‐sunday.aspx or for more information they can call 0333 123 2340.
