Formartine United kept up their flawless start to the season with a 4-2 win over Keith at North Lodge Park on Saturday.
But the Pitmedden side had to work hard for the points, which maintains their 100 percent record so far - six victories out of six - and sees them joint top of the league.
There was considerable interest in how in-form summer signing Cammy Keith would fare against his old club and he got a chance to put his name on the scoresheet as early as the second minute.
Formartine were awarded a penalty when Mike Ewen was taken down and Keith stepped up - but MacLeod saved to his right and then superbly blocked the rebound.
But the league’s top scorer made amends three minutes later. Dan Park angled his cross to meet Keith’s run to the near post and the striker slid the ball home.
In the 11th minute, the visitors drew level when Milne rose above everyone to head in a MacAskill corner.
As the half wore on, Formartine were slightly the better side but lacked their customary sparkle.
However, they regained the lead four minutes into the second half when Park picked up a rebound and sent a curling shot beyond MacLeod.
In the 55th minute Ewen added a third, rounding the keeper before walking the ball into the net.
With nine minutes to go, Ewen claimed his second when he picked up Keith’s through ball and flicked it home.
The visitors pulled back a second just before the end when Sean Keith, younger brother of Cammy, finished off a move by MacAskill.
