Kris Hunter is still waiting for his first win as Formartine United manager after his side lost 3-2 to Inverurie Locos at North Lodge Park on Wednesday night.
United led 2-1 but Locos, who were reduced to 10 men after Michie was red-carded, battled back and grabbed the winner two minutes from time.
New boss Hunter had set a target of four wins to finish a disappointing season with a flourish, but Saturday’s draw at Deveronvale and the derby defeat have put paid to that.
Cammy Keith, pictured, gave Formartine a 32nd minute lead when he pounced to knock home a rebound.
The Inverurie side drew level seven minutes from half-time when Gauld took a ball from Bavidge and drilled it past Shearer.
Formartine edged in front again in the 55th minute. McVitie picked up Dingwall’s pass and went past two defenders before firing past Reid.
The turning point in the match came when Michie was ordered off after a clash with Duguid, who was booked.
It seemed to inspire Locos and Gauld netted the equaliser when he beat Shearer from 15 yards after his dipping drive had struck the bar.
Worse was to come for Formartine when the visitors claimed all three points near the end. Substitute Leyden finished off a fine solo run with a fierce drive from 15 yards.
