Inverurie Loco Works FC will play host to Aberdeen FC at Harlaw Park on Saturday, July 26, at 3 pm in what will be a thoroughly well deserved Testimonial Match accolade for inspirational Locos skipper Neil McLean.

A great club leader, Neil McLean’s best career highlight has been captaining Scotland on home soil in the 2007 Semi Professional Home Nations Tournament.

This season, his tenth since joining the club in June 2004, has been his best in Red and Black, saw him lead his team to second place in the Press and Journal Highland League table and an Aberdeenshire Shield success.

Awarded a soccer scholarship to attend Hartwick College near New York, McLean returned to Scotland with a degree in History before going on to play Elgin City for two years.

Signed by Locos a decade ago as a left winger, he has gone on to excel in a number of different roles displaying great tactical awareness and is equally talented with both feet.
