Inverurie Locos moved to within two points of second place in the Highland League table with a 3-0 win over an under strength bottom club Fort William.
This game was won in the first half and arguably in the first ten minutes. With just three minutes on the clock Neil Gauld collected the ball after his initial shot was blocked and he fed it through to Jordan Leyden who raced in to fire home from six yards.
Five minutes later and Gauld was on the scoresheet himself, taking a Leyden pass in his stride, rounding the keeper and rolling the ball into the gaping goal.
Gauld then netted his second in the 33rd minute when he fired in from an acute angle from a Ross Anderson flick on.
Inverurie Locos: Reid, McLean, Maitland, Begg, Broadhurst, Anderson, Leyden, Mitchell, Gauld Bavidge, Donaldson
Subs: Ross, Adams, Souter
This Saturday, Inverurie Locos are away to Keith, a team who have lost a lot of players in the past few months. With Nairn County having lost at Clach on Saturday and Formartine in great form heading to face league runaway leaders Brora, nothing less than a win will do for the Locos.
