A hint of Spring brings water to life at Lochter
AT long last the much-awaited warm spell has arrived.
Beneath the surface at Lochter Fishery there is new budding life as dormant flies and aquatic creatures stir as the water temperature slowly rises.
Top man this week was George Pirie who celebrated his birthday with a brilliant days fishing releasing 14 and keeping a couple for a fish tea. Okey Dokeys and yellow Dancers were the flies that did the business. Alan Logan was another happy man with eight all on Nymphs.
Bill Wilson used Cormorants and Buzzers to account for seven and Neil Jenkins, L Davidson, Les Mess, and Bob Mitchell all had six each on a mixture of Cormorants and lures.
It was nice to see plenty of splendid looking overwintered fish being caught and giving anglers a real good fight.
These beautiful silver fish have done well, proof that there was plenty of natural food to keep them going over the winter months.
They are now becoming much more active which is good news for fishers.
