Ellon Rotary tournament boost for local charities

Ellon Rotary Club’s annual charity golf tournament saw 160 competitors taking part at the McDonald Club,

The event raised a substantial sum for local charities and good causes.

Played in ideal weather conditions, and with the course in excellent order, some good scores were recorded.

Prize-winners were:

Men - Class 1 - 1st Stephen Murray 39 pts; 2nd Harry Butler 38 pts; 3rd Alan Thomson (38 pts ACB). Class 2 - 1st Mitch Hardie 40 pts; 2nd Tom Rattray 40 pts ACB; 3rd M E Duncan 39 pts. Class 3 - 1st P McLeod 41 pts; 2nd Ryan Bell 40 pts; 3rd B G Mackie 38 pts.

Ladies - 1st Christine Middleton 41 pts; 2nd Mandy Rogers; 3rd Shona Reid 34 pts.

Longest drive – Men Robert Ewen; Ladies Mandy Rogers.

Nearest the pin – Men J Thomson ; Ladies Amanda Farquhar.

A Rotary spokesman said: “Ellon Rotary would like to thank McDonald Golf Club for the use of the course for the day, the golfers who turned out in such numbers and the many sponsors who made the event such a success.”
