Highland medal haul for gymnasts

Inverurie’s GSC Gymnastics Club competed for the the first time in the Highlands when they visited Alness last weekend.

And incredibly all 22 girls who competed won a medal!

In the 6/7 year old category this was some of the girls very first competition and winning bronze in the team event was a major achievement for the youngsters .

Emma Durrant won silver on the floor and bronze overall while Amy Crooke won silver on the vault.

In the 8 years category the team scooped gold with Halle Gordon winning silver on the floor, bronze on the vault and bronze overall.

Halle Strachan won gold on the vault and was the overall runner up in the 9 years category.

In the 10/11 years Beginners Jessica Hutchison won silver on the floor and team bronze.

In the 10/11 Intermediate section the team landed the silver overall with Kloey Barclay winning gold on the floor and bronze overall.

Her team-mate Carrie-Ann Gordon was just behind her with silver on the floor.

In the 12-plus age group Rebecca Naysmith won bronze on the gloor and the team also placed third.

All the coaches were delighted with the youngsters performance .

Holly Fromholc said they were very proud of all the girls and their efforts in a great competition.
