At the recent Aberdeen Diocesan Golf Outing the winning team of the Bishop’s Golden Jubilee Trophy was the team from Inverurie Parish consisting of Bill Birnie, Andrew Westwood and Beatrice McCann.

Nine teams of three golfers played this year on a beautiful sunny day, with the presentations made by Fr Gabor Czako, who came to support his two teams, following which there was a lovely two course meal in the clubhouse.

This was the 17th Golf Outing, the first trophy was donated by the Deacons and called the Deacons Trophy.

When it filled up with winners, Bishop Peter Moran donated the trophy that is played for now, and as it was presented during his Golden Jubilee Year, that is where it got its name.

Clergy and golfers in the Aberdeen Diocese are very much encouraged to put their names forward for next year!
