Scotland’s top golfer won the admiration of the McDonald Golf Club when he turned up for a Paul Lawrie flag day.
After narrowly missing the cut in the US PGA, Lawrie immediately headed home and made an appearance at the Ellon club.
Club secretary Jim O’Brien said: “Paul is to be commended for his dedication. He really is a credit to the North-east.
“I reckon he had less than a hour’s sleep. We are all very grateful to him. He is a great ambassador for the game.”
