SCHOOL holidays and spells of very mild weather brought the youngsters out to Loch Insch this week. Special moments for Ryan Strachan of Fyvie and Joe Wilson from Midmar as they both caught on the fly lochs for the first time! Ryan’s falling to a Bunny Leech and Joe’s to a Black Fritz. Keep it up, lads! Jamie Buchan also put Granda to shame landing a 2 1/2lb rainbow for the pan. At the bait pond we welcomed back Josh Bramman following several weeks in hospital in Edinburgh and Aberdeen. Josh got a day pass from “Archie” and enjoyed a lovely afternoon keeping 3 rainbows for 4lbs. Get well soon, Josh, keep up the physio!

Big boys showing off were; John Junor of Cruden Bay who had 10 on a now defunct Black Daddy, best of around 4lb.

Tony Perkins from Manchester returned 7, all taken on a white Fritz.

Ron Lesley from Aberdeen also returned 7, this time on a Tadpole and a Blue Fritz.

Pals, J. Allan and S. Ferguson from Aberdeen returned 11 between them, taken on Bunny Leeches.

Philip Wolpert from Aberdeen, netted 6 using traditional wet flies.

D. Beattie from Cove landed 4, keeping 2 for just under 6lbs which fell to a secret home tied fly. N. Watt from Insch netted 4.
