Success in Glasgow for GSC gymnasts

On Sunday, (April 18), Inverurie GSC Gymnastics took part in the Sapphire Gymnastics Competition held in Glasgow.

In the 6/7 yrs category Alanna Sharp won bronze on floor and bronze overall, Jessica Singer won bronze on floor and placed fourth overall, Amy Crooke won bronze on vault.

They also took team silver along with team mate Kelsey Chapman. Lucy Beagrie, Ellie Milne and Aimee Busher also competed with their team placing fifth.

In the 8/9 yrs Holly Grant won bronze on floor, gold on vault and gold overall while Emma Durrant won gold on floor and bronze overall. Emily Proud was placed fourth on vault and along with team mate Alisha Allan they won team gold.

The 10/11 Beginners section saw Jessica Hutchieson win bronze on floor, placed fourth on vault and winning silver overall with Neyda Hosie placed fourth on floor.

There was more success 10/11 Intermediates where Kloey Barclay won silver on floor, gold on vault and gold overall. Grace Robertson was placed fourth on floor and and along with team mate Halle Strachan they won team silver.

The 12+ Intermediates saw Rebecca Naysmith placed fifth on floor, bronze on vault and bronze overall while Abby Robertson placed fifth on floor and Stacey Reid placed fifth on vault and they also won a team bronze.

Julie Barclay paid tribute to the girls saying, “They all gave of their best and we as coaches were delighted with the performances. Thanks also go to the parents who helped us with transport arrangements and supported the gymnasts through the day.
