Playing 100 holes of golf in a day is a challenge enough to be tackled once, but John Ramage, who completed the marathon task 25 years ago is getting ready to do it all again.
25 years ago, local golfer John Ramage Jnr was joined by Graeme Cobban and Ian Reid in playing 100 holes of golf in one day at Inverurie Golf Club. As a result of their efforts at the time, the three friends raised over £700 for charity. Unfortunately both Graeme and Ian passed away too young during 2013.
In memory of his two friends, John decided to embark upon the challenge again, this time joined by Graeme’s son Martin and Ian’s son Stuart.
The event will be held on Thursday, July 24, again at Inverurie thanks to the support of the club. The three golfers aim to tee off at 5.45am and hope to complete all 100 holes before the sun sets.
There is a Virgin Money Giving page where anyone wishing to can make a donation, which will be passed to charity. All donations, no matter how small, will be much appreciated by John, Martin and Stuart.
