Winter still biting at Lochter

JUST when we thought that Spring had sprung, back came winter with a vengeance with frost and snow.

Anglers at Lochter Fishery, Oldmeldrum, had a tough old week braving the elements and earned every fish they landed.

In the Scottish Team Fundraiser on Sunday, Richard McHattie won with 22 points with Kenny Riddell second with 11points just ahead of Kevin Neri with ten. Some of the top anglers in the area participated and a good sum was raised to help the team in their events this season.

Earlier in the week bags included M Pirie with eight on an SWS, I Robertson, four with the best weighing in at 6lbs and D Mair, ten, on Blobs.

Fishing was greatly curtailed and the forecast is decidedly mixed so patience will be the watchword this week.

Fortunately this is a quality which anglers have in abundance.

Lochter is a twelve-acre fishery. It consists of four lochs and is stocked with rainbow trout up to 20lbs in weight.
