Wrestlezone back in Ellon

Professional wrestling returns to Ellon this Saturday night with a huge championship challenge match set to headline a night of family fun.

The annual event from WrestleZone will bring the bodyslamming action to the Victoria Hall and it has been announced that the main event will see the Undisputed Championship defended by new champion Shawn Johnson.

The challenger will be fan favourite Mr. P who secured a huge victory at the Aberdeen Beach Ballroom last weekend teaming with WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi and Scottish funnyman Grado.

On the back of that big performance, Mr. P is now ready to go one better and win his first singles gold this Saturday.

He continued: “I’ve learned a lot in the last few weeks and am delighted to get this opportunity to wrestle for the Undisputed Championship.

“Teaming with Rikishi and Grado last weekend was a fantastic experience; their advice can only help me get better inside the ring.

“Pinning a former Undisputed Champion in Andy Wild means a lot to me – and I hope this will now be the spur I need to go onto further glory.

“Shawn Johnson better not get too comfortable as champion as I’m planning on doing my best to embrace the chaos of Ellon, and leave as the new Undisputed Champion.”

The professional wrestling event has become a staple of Ellon’s summer and grapplers such as Scotty Swift, Zach Dynamite and Bradley Evans are ready for the fight night this Saturday.

Coming off a huge event at the Beach Ballroom in Aberdeen just two weeks ago, there is so much to fight for and WrestleZone host Martyn Clunes expects a spectacular night of pro-wrestling.

He said: “Ellon’s wrestling fans always give us some great support and we expect this event to be popular once more.”

Doors at the Town Hall open at 7pm with the action underway at 7.30pm.

Entry is pay-at- the-door priced £12 for adults and £10 for under 14s; advance e-tickets are available.
