The last weekend of July was a successful one for Ythan CC as Colin Duncan ensured there was a home victory in the club promoted Bob Souter 10 mile TT.

With a southerly breeze hitting the riders on the return leg from Methlick to Ythanbank, Duncan rode to a brilliant 22m 46s to pip Lee Smith (Aberdeen Wheelers) by four seconds and third placed, and former Ythan junior rider, Jordan Stronach who was a further 30 seconds back.

Duncan’s victory was complemented by teammate Alan Smith who took 4th place and the handicap prize which also secured the Bob Souter trophy.

Callum Cooper completed a hat-trick for the club by taking the youth prize.

The previous day had seen Bill Bavidge competing in the Skelly Trophy 50 mile TT at Invergordon where he rode to 7th place with a personal best time of 2h 1m 1s.

Callum Finlayson (Moray Firth RT) took the top spot in a race that was held in wet conditions and heavy traffic on the A9.

This weekend will see a number of Ythan riders travelling to Fordoun for the annual Coffee Pot 50 mile TT on the A90 course.
