United announce new management team

ELLON United FC have announced their new management team, with Craig Stewart and Jim Booth taking over from Ryan Petrie, following his announcement that he would be stepping down to return to the playing side.

Craig has a wealth of experience, having spent spells with Elgin City, Deveronvale and Buckie Thistle in the Highland League, and with Turriff United and Sunnybank at the Junior level.

Craig’s managerial experience takes in his time as part of Turriff United’s management team before taking over the helm at his home town Junior team, Deveronside, during which time he was also involved in looking after part of the Deveronvale development squad. Craig kindly came along to help out Ryan in the closing stages of the last season.

Jim Booth has worked with Craig through previous connections with the development squad at Deveronvale. Based in Ellon, Jim has a very considerable overall knowledge of the local football scene.

He has been involved with coaching and the administrative side of local football through his long-term involvement with Ellon Boys Club, where he took his side from Under-11s to Under-19s where they won their league section.

Jim then became involved with Ellon AFC, guiding them under his management to their current place in the First Division of the Aberdeenshire AFA.

The new management team are now busy finalising their preparations for the coming season, and the United camp wish them all the best in their efforts to move the club forward.
