It has long been a tradition at Haddo House to mark the beginning of the Christmas period with some beautiful singing of carols.
The Haddo Choral and Operatic Society have been hard at work rehearsing for their annual carol concerts, which will be held this year on December 11 and 17.
The concerts will take place in the atmospheric surroundings of the chapel at Haddo House, with a full programme of seasonal song followed by refreshments for everyone in the historic rooms of Haddo House itself.
This year’s concerts are the first to be held with the Society’s newly appointed Choir Master, Paul Tierney, taking up the baton.
Together with the mature sound of the full Haddo choir, the concerts will also feature the young voices of the Haddo Ensemble, a group of ten talented young singers who will surely delight everyone with their beautiful singing.
Over the years the concerts have become an essential part of Christmas for many residents in the local area – and they are certainly a sign that Christmas has begun!
This year there are four concerts to choose from, with performances at 2pm and 4pm on both December 11 and 17.
Their popularity means that it is wise to buy tickets early.
Tickets are £16, which include the refreshments after the concert, and can be obtained online at hhcos.org.uk/hhcos/whats-on/buytickets.
