A call has gone out for young girl singers and actresses to join a forthcoming Haddo House production.

They are needed for the opera La Traviata which will be staged on April 14 and 15.

Haddo House Choral and Operatic Society is inviting girls aged from 10-21 to take part free of charge and without audition for the show on Good Friday and Easter Saturday.

They will be required to appear in one scene of Verdi’s most famous opera.

No experience is required to be part of the exciting venture – being billed as a unique opportunity for local aspiring actresses to get to work with professionals on their own doorstep.

Rehearsals are for half an hour a week on Thursdays from 7.15-7.45pm at Haddo House Peatyards, and participants should be available throughout the Easter holidays, although calls will be kept to a minimum.

Chorus director Alice Dennis said: “Haddo loves involving young people in its productions, they add so much to the shows and it’s lovely to work with them.

“They learn quickly and you can see them almost visibly growing in confidence on the stage.

“They also make wonderful friendships during the production period and make memories that last a lifetime. I do hope some new faces will join us.”

Anyone interested can contact Alice on 01358 745768 or can simply turn up to give it a try with no obligation and they will be sure to get a warm welcome. Transport to Haddo House for rehearsals can be organised, if required.
