The annual Fairtrade Christmas sale at Bonnyton farmhouse, Pitmedden did not disappoint again this year.

Chair of Mid-Formartine Fairtrade group, Anne Aspden, opened her home for five days, to give people the opportunity to buy products from a wide range of suppliers.

The event demonstrates a unique way of conducting business, with customers enjoying delicious home-made refreshments around the kitchen table as part of their shopping experience.

Donations from those who enjoyed the free refreshments amounted to £240 which will be sent to the Haiti appeal.

The real purpose of the sale is to show that it is possible to make fairtrade a part of everyday shopping and by doing so, help rebalance some of the injustices in our trading system which keep people in poverty.

Around 300 people visited and spent almost £6,400.
