HADDO House Choral and Operatic Society is offering music lovers the chance to play a leading role in its performances - by sponsoring a Steinway & Sons piano.
The piano is in need of restoration, and will cost £33,000 to repair. However, it will be worth £100,000 when it returns as new.
It is used for the society’s performances in Haddo House Hall and by other groups, such as Haddo Children’s Theatre, for other musical productions, and for weddings and other events in the hall.
The imaginative scheme will give the public the opportunity to sponsor a key on the valuable piano.
Louise McGregor, chair of the highly-acclaimed North-east choir, said: “Having the piano restored would be just fantastic, not only for choral society but for everyone who uses Haddo House.”
The public can sponsor one of the 88 keys and will be permanently recognised at Haddo Hall.
