The Haddo Girls and Boys Voices are starting rehearsals next week for a very special concert in December.

For Alice Dennis’ last concert directing the youth choir, she is inviting adult women to join, to recreating in some small way, the success of the Haddo Combined Treble Voice Choir who last performed together in 2010.

Friends of young choir members, mums, aunts, sisters and grannies or anyone who would like to try out singing in a fun mixed aged choir, is invited to join rehearsals in the run up to the concert on Friday, December 9 at Haddo House.

Alice is retiring after 26 years of directing the youth choirs connected with Haddo House and wants her last concert to be something out of the ordinary: “I do hope some ladies will take this opportunity to have a fun time on a Tuesday night in Ellon with me and other like-minded people.

“I can’t wait to hear again the depth of sound that this choir can achieve. December 9 will be very special for me and everyone involved with the choir.”

Haddo Children’s Voices are starting up again next week too, for children aged P2-P5 on Wednesdays at 6pm in the Kirk Centre with Alison Milne.

Rehearsals for the Combined Choir are on Tuesdays at 7.15–7.45pm (youth members only) 7.45–8.15pm (adults and youth members): Ellon Parish Church starting on September 13 (no rehearsals in October).

New members can just show up or call Alice for more details on 01358 743768 (mornings).
