Haddo House will host a performance of Puccini’s Madame Butterfly in May.

Opera Bohemia’s production, set in modern-day Japan, has been given a rapturous reception from packed audiences across Scotland.

It has also received a special invitation to perform at Middle Temple in London.

Rising Scottish star Catriona Clark sings the role of Cio-Cio San, leading a cast of up-and-coming professional opera singers.

The tale of love, sacrifice and heartbreak promises to be a memorable night for opera lovers and newcomers alike. The performance is accompanied in a special arrangement for piano and violin and is sung in Italian with English surtitles.

As a welcome addition to Opera Bohemia’s usual format, they will be joined by the Haddo House Choral and Operatic Society who will sing the beautiful and haunting off-stage choruses - the most famous of which is the humming chorus.

The opera will be directed by John Wilkie and will be at 7.30pm at Haddo House Hall on Wednesday, May 20.
