Help required at Hatton Gala spectacular

Organisers of this year’s Hatton Gala are looking for volunteers to lend a hand.

The Gala takes place on Sunday, August 31 and starts at 1pm with Ellon Pipe Band marching from the Hatton Mill to the playing fields in Station Road where the gala will be held this year.

Returning for the second year will be The Hatton Gala 10k Fun Run which kicks off at 1.30pm.

Advance entry is £5 and entries on the day will be £7 and can be submitted up until 12.45pm at the race tent.

Runners must be 16 or over and everyone will receive a medal at the finish line for their efforts.

A range of entertainment will be on offer including Circo Modo, Body Zorbing, Mutiny Tribal Bellydancing, the Sylvia Dalziel School of dance, Shoogle Shimmy, music from Nae Cash and a rousing finale from the Ellon Pipe Band.

The Hatton Gala Welly Throwing competition makes a welcome return this year as well as the Fun Pet Show.

There will be something for everyone at all the usual stalls which will be set up including firm favourites such as the tombolas, raffles, delicious cake and candy and various games.

The children are also set to have a great day out on the bouncy castle and giant slide.

A fine cup of tea will be served along with a barbecue and a tuck shop will also be running.

Don’t forget to head along to The Hatton Duck race which will be held on Saturday, August 30.

Organisers are looking for volunteers to help during the event and for donations of raffles and prizes.
