A British rock guitarist will be visiting Aberdeen as one of two Scottish dates this winter as part of a UK tour.
Blues rock guitarist, Joanne Shaw Taylor performs at the Aberdeen’s Lemon Tree in November after the release of her fourth album which is currently being recorded in Memphis.
The tour which comes to the North-east on Thursday, November 6, will also include an appearance from former Whitesnake guitarist Bernie Marsden as special guest.
Kicking off on November 1, the tour will see Joanne perform at Norwich Epic before going on to Sheffield, Leeds and Manchester then Aberdeen, Glasgow.
Afterwards she will perform for crowds in Stockton, Exeter, Falmouth, Salisbury, Birmingham, Cardiff, London O2 and finish up in Bury St Edmunds.
The new album - The Dirty Truth will be available to buy in the shops and download on Monday, September 22.
Released on Joanne’s boutique label Axehouse Records, listeners may notice that she has reunited with Jim Gaines.
Jim produced her debut album - White Sugar - back in 2008.
Joanne said: “I wanted to go back into the studio in Memphis with Jim to retain the same vibe that we captured on the first album.
“The new album is a combination of rock and blues, and I think it’s going to be an exciting collaboration, and hopefully, my fans will love the rockier edge.”
The tour and new album come after her 2013 critically-acclaimed - Songs From The Road - a live album full of soul power, blues savvy and rock roots.
In a press interview last year, Joanne was asked if she was having fun playing live and she replied: “How can you not enjoy that job?
“I get on stage, turn my guitar up really loud and I shout in the microphone for two hours. It’s like the best therapy in the world!”
