A popular entertainer has taken his final bow after signing off with a show-stopping performance at an Ellon care home.
Colin Simpson has been captivating residents at Ythanvale for many years by playing their favourite tunes on the piano and organ.
But it was farewell night last Friday as Colin tinkled the ivories for his adoring audience for the last time.
Ythanvale assistant manager Ann Milne told the Times it was an emotional evening.
She said: “Colin has been the resident entertainer here for many years and he comes along every second Friday.
“He has been a very big favourite with the residents and plays all their favourite songs, so they will really miss him.”
Ann, who is also chair of the Friends of Ythanvale, said the residents had wanted to thank him by way of a small presentation.
She said: “Friday nights won’t be the same again.”
The Friends group raise money through organising various events in the year to provide treats for the residents.
