AN ELLON singer has spoken of her excitement at being selected to perform at one of the North East’s biggest musical events.
Kim Anderson will be returning home to join one of the UK’s biggest soul stars and some of Scotland’s most long-established acts when she takes the stage in front of 5,000 people at ‘Fyvie Live’ 2011. Performing West End favourites, Kim will be sharing the stage with Celtic supergroup Capercaillie and the winner of three MOBO awards, top soul singer Beverley Knight.
The festival, which takes place at Fyvie Castle, will see thousands of concert-goers picnicking on the lawn of the castle. All the profits from the event will go to local charity, Friends of ANCHOR, which supports cancer patients throughout the North of Scotland who are treated at the ANCHOR Unit at Aberdeen’s Royal Infirmary.
“This will be the biggest audience I’ve performed in front of so far”, said Kim, 21. “I was delighted to be asked to take part in such a historical celebratory event which will be supporting such a worthy cause.
“I discovered I could sing at 13 years old and I’m so grateful for the opportunities I’ve had so far”, she continued. “Fyvie Live sounds like it’s going to be an incredibly special event and I can’t wait to perform at it!”
Tickets for the event are available at www.fyvie-live.co.uk. Adult tickets are priced at £25.50, £14 for concessions and £68 for a family of four. Children under five enter free.
