Following on from the success of “The Sound of Music” and “Annie”, Ellon Academy Drama Club are presenting their next musical production in June.

The school is preparing to present one of the most enduring and popular shows on Broadway, “The Music Man”.

With music and lyrics by Meredith Wilson, the show features songs “Seventy-six Trombones”, “Till there was you” and “Trouble with a Capital T”.

The plot concerns con man Harold Hill, who poses as a band organiser and leader. But Harold is no musician and plans to skip town without giving any music lessons.

However, librarian and piano teacher Marian sees through him, but when Harold helps her younger brother overcome his lisp and social awkwardness, Marian begins to fall in love.

But will Harold get caught out?

The show is a wonderful opportunity for a large number of principals and a strong, large chorus to make this a wonderful evening to remember.

Tickets, priced at £8 and £5, are on sale from the Reception at Ellon Academy or at J&K Shoes, Ellon.
