Floor plans show that the proposed referral centre would have a reception and waiting area, a staff room, consulting room, a pre-op/treatment room and two operating rooms.

The application is seeking Change of Use of the former Abrras training centre at Meiklemill Industrial Estate to create a new specialist referral centre for animal Ophthalmology treatment.

A statement by agent Stephen Brown Architect submitted with the application states that as this will be a referral centre the premises “will not be subject to the volume of clients seen at a general veterinary practice” with visitors limited to appointments only.

The statement adds that there will be three members of staff at the centre.
