Arnage put best foot forward
Last Friday, Arnage Primary School and playgroup limbered up to do what has now become a community bi-annual tradition.
The sport relief mile begins at local business JKR and takes the runners, walkers, buggy pushers and dog walkers along the country lane to the finish line at Arnage School.
As always the school children and playgroup were joined by teachers, baby brothers and sisters, parents, carers and relatives and of course several pets, with balloon festooned cars front and rear keeping everyone safe.
Some teachers and parents lined the route with flags and manned a cheering finish line where all those who took part were rewarded with a sticker and sent into school for a hearty breakfast and certificate presentation.
Speaking after completing the course himself, Mike Craig the headteacher said: “It was brilliant being part of such a great community event, having so many local families come together to raise money for Sport Relief and have fun in the process is just fantastic.”
The total amount raised by the event hasn’t yet been finalised but looks to be a record-breaking amount of more than £400.
