The historical society received a donation of sixty glass negatives dating back to around the 1900s from an Ellon resident.
The society secretary, Brenda Duncan said: “A lady from Ellon donated them to us and we had them restored on to discs.
“These are quite important to Ellon because they are hard to find.
“They include views of places in and around Ellon.”
The society starts its next season on Tuesday, September 10, in the Buchan Hotel, at 7.30pm.
The talk will be by Alan White titled ”Philip Kennedy and other smuggling tales from Collieston.”
Collieston was one of the main centres for the landing of smuggled goods. Philip Kennedy was killed in 1798 while trying to protect his illicit goods from the customs officers. He is buried in Slains Churchyard.
Other talks include The Bell Rock Lighthouse, Aberdeenshire Ophthalomologists, The Picts in the North East and The Ellon Photographic database.
The society also hope to arrange a private visit for members to Tarves Heritage Project this month or in October.
